Indian Army Leads Heroic Rescue Operations After Kheer Gad Mudslide in Uttarkashi

Dehradun (PRO Defence) – In the aftermath of the devastating mudslide at Kheer Gad near Dharali in Uttarkashi district, the Indian Army has launched an intense rescue and relief operation under the leadership of Colonel Harshvardhan, Commanding Officer of 14 RAJRIF.

Despite the unit base being adversely affected and communication lines cut off, Col Harshvardhan is personally leading 150 soldiers in the critical mission. Eleven personnel are currently feared missing, yet the troops continue their operations with unwavering courage and commitment.

So far, 20 civilians have been successfully rescued from the disaster-hit zone. The ongoing torrential rains and collapsed road connectivity have not dampened the spirit of the soldiers, who remain steadfast in their mission to protect and save every civilian in danger.

Reflecting the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army, additional rescue columns are being mobilized to reinforce the ongoing relief efforts.

The relentless determination and bravery displayed by the troops exemplify the Army’s ethos — resilient, selfless, and always ready to serve the nation.
