~Tehri Queens held their nerve to clinch a thrilling three-wicket win over Mussoorie Thunders in the Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium

Dehradun : In the last match of the group stage, the Mussoorie Thunders, batting first, managed 101/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Reena Jindal top-scored with a steady 34 off 40 balls, holding the innings together. She was supported by opener Kanchan Parihar (21), Sidra Farooqhi (16) and skipper Amisha Bahukhandi (12), while the remaining batters failed to reach double figures.

The openers Reena Jindal and Kanchan Parihar helped their side get off to a steady start but later Sidra Farooqhi’s dismissal triggered a collapse for the Thunders. Amisha Bahukhandi’s late contribution helped them reach the 100-run mark.

Mussoorie Thunders’s skipper Neelam Bhardwaj starred with the ball, returning 3/18.

During the chase, despite the early wicket of Megha Saini, Tehri Queens started briskly as captain Neelam Bhardwaj’s 11 off 10 took them to 27 in the fourth over before she was dismissed by Tara Bisht. Opener Arti Bhandari and Ankita Bisht steadied the innings with a 47-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Bisht top scored with a run-a-ball 30 before being run out. Arti soon followed for a 34-ball 26 as the Queens lost half of their team.

Amisha Bahukhandi, the captain picked up the next wicket to add to the tension as Tehri Queens crashed to 94/7. However, Yashika Baunthiyal and Kanika Negi kept their cool and a boundary by the former in the final over helped the Queens to maintain their hundred percent win record in the group stage.

Next up, Tehri Queen’s take on Haridwar Storm in the Final’s of the Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League on Friday afternoon. With both teams aiming to secure their first title win in the Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League 2025 and taking the Trophy home.
