Dehradun : In a significant step towards ensuring a cleaner, safer city and providing prompt relief during emergency situations, the Dehradun Municipal Corporation on Friday launched its Quick Response Team (QRT) initiative. Under this innovative program, five dedicated QRT vehicles have been deployed across different areas of the city.
On the occasion, Urban Development Minister Ram Singh Kaida, Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal, and Municipal Commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey jointly flagged off the QRT vehicles.
Addressing the media, Urban Development Minister Ram Singh Kaida said that the Quick Response Team is an important initiative aimed at providing timely and effective emergency sanitation services to citizens. He stated that the system would further strengthen the city’s sanitation management and play a vital role in ensuring swift relief during disasters and other special situations.
Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal said that the Municipal Corporation is continuously working to improve civic services. Through the QRT, sanitation-related complaints will be resolved more quickly, and prompt action will be ensured during emergency situations. He described the initiative as a significant step towards making Dehradun a cleaner and more organized city.

Municipal Commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey informed that five dedicated QRT vehicles have been deployed in different parts of the city, with each vehicle staffed by a team of six trained personnel. He stated that the teams would respond immediately to complaints and emergency sanitation-related information received through the system. For the convenience of citizens, a toll-free helpline number, 1800-180-4571, has been issued to avail of QRT services.
He further explained that each QRT vehicle is equipped with a dedicated team of six trained personnel who will provide emergency sanitation services, undertake rapid action during natural and man-made disasters, and ensure immediate relief and cleanliness arrangements in special circumstances.
To ensure effective and swift response during emergencies, each Quick Response Team has been provided with modern equipment and essential resources. These include grass-cutting machines, shovels, spades, pickaxes, crowbars, brush-cutting swords, axes, ropes, safety gear, and other sanitation and disaster-management tools, enabling immediate and effective action in any emergency situation.

Through the QRT initiative, prompt action will be taken for debris and waste removal following road accidents or natural disasters, emergency cleaning of waterlogged areas and drains, special sanitation drives at public places, additional cleaning arrangements during major events, sanitation support during fire incidents and other emergencies, and the quick resolution of other urgent sanitation-related complaints.
