Pending Rent for Anganwadi Centers to Be Cleared Soon After Morcha’s Intervention; Govt Issues Directives

Vikasnagar: The long-pending rent dues for Anganwadi centers operating in rented buildings across the state are likely to be released soon. Raghunath Singh Negi, president of the Jan Sangharsh Morcha and former vice-president of GMVN, informed that the centers had not received building rent since April 2026, causing severe hardship to operators.

Following the Morcha’s representation to the Secretary of Women Empowerment and Child Development on July 14, the state government issued directives. In compliance, the Director of Child Development has now sent letters to all districts seeking budget proposals, initiating the release process. Negi expressed confidence that the pending rent would be disbursed shortly, bringing much-needed relief to Anganwadi center operators across the state.
